PDFs stapling/layout wrong all of a sudden

Hope you are doing well and thank you for reaching out and explaining the issue so clearly. I understand how frustrating this must be.
 

As you’ve described, it does sound like the PDF print orientation is being interpreted differently by Acrobat/Reader, which is causing the stapling position to shift on your Ricoh MFP printer. 
 

Here are a few things you can try:

1. Try “Choose paper source by PDF page size”

In the Print dialog, enable or disable this opt
 

2. Set Orientation manually

In the Print dialog, explicitly select Portrait (instead of Auto)
Even if the document looks correct, forcing it can fix stapling alignment.
 

3. Check “Print as Image” (for testing)

Open PDF > Go to Advanced Print Settings
Enable Print as Image and try once
This can bypass orientation metadata issues.
 

4. Verify Recent Updates
Since you mentioned this started recently, it could be related to a new update. You can: Go to Help > Check for Updates and ensure you’re on the latest version
 

5. Ricoh Driver Settings:
Some Ricoh drivers have their own finishing/orientation logic. If possible: Check stapling settings in the printer properties (outside Acrobat)
Ensure it’s not overriding based on detected orientation
 

Since Word prints correctly, your observation is very helpful—it confirms the issue is likely tied to how Acrobat is passing orientation data to the printer.

To help narrow this down further, could you please share:

• Are you using Adobe Acrobat Pro or Reader, and which version?
• Does this happen with all PDFs or only specific ones?
