.PNG is transparent in Acrobat Pro but has a black background in Acrobat Reader

I often make forms for my department and in this one I have an editable image field. The purpose of making these forms is to allow my co-workers to edit these designs on their own as needed using the free version, Acrobat Reader.

Using the exact same editable form and exact same transparent PNG I get different results in Acrobat Pro Vs Acrobat Reader.

Acrobat Reader - Black background

I suspect this is a bug in the program that needs to be addressed. Does anyone know of a work around?
