Prepare Form Tool - Updating document to newer version while preparing

I am preparing a predesigned form that has several text and checkbox fields, and I noticed a small design error at the bottom of the document. I am wanting to know if it is possible to update/change the document to the corrected version without compromising all of the fields and boxes I have added so far. Any help would be appreciated!

Yes. Fix the problem in the original file format and then create a new, static PDF file (under a new name! Don't overwrite the one with the fields).

Then open the old version that has the fields and use the Replace Pages command (under Tools - Organize Page) and select the new file.

The old pages will be replaced with the new ones, while the fields will remain in place.
