Since last week, suddenly facing issue to print mixed pages legal + letter and it shows error “ "this document can not be printed"”. surprisingly i can print individually legal and letter documents but not mixed.

    Correct answer mapsypam

@mapsypam I fixed it! I forgot to add my printer driver back on after the last update where I took everything off and put it back on except my printer driver. Thanks and I hope to never need you again!

I did the new update this morning (8/11) and its still only printing either legal or letter but not both-- this has been 8 days of nightmare for me at work.

    Hello @mapsypam

I hope you are well, and sorry for the trouble. Assuming you have installed the latest build, which addressed this issue: 26.001.21789 Out of cycle update, Aug 11, 2026. And, tried the suggestion from this published help article on this: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/desktop/troubleshoot/print-scan-issues/unable-to-print-a-pdf-with-mixed-pages.html

But as you mentioned, you are able to print either legal or letter, but not both. Are you getting any error message on the screen while printing? What happens when you give the print command? Also, can you please collect the fresh logs after installing the latest build so that we can get that investigated by the product team? To collect the logs, please check this article: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-diagnostics.html

Thanks for your cooperation on this.

    Regards,

    Anand Sri.

I have done all of these things including the patch from last week and the update from today and still nothing- also there is still no “troubleshoot” and no “enable logs” for me to collect that info for you, but I have done everything else- When I print- even though everything is correctly checked- it will either ONLY print legal or letter-- not mixed. I have to go into the page set up and change the paper size for each document. Which is a huge problem when printing legal and letter mixed pdf packages

Thank you for the patch! My printer is printing now without the pop up box, but it will only print either letter or legal but not mixed. I have a call in with brother support to make sure I have my settings right

    Hi all

Please go through the steps shared in the help page  Can't print PDF with mixed pages in Acrobat | Adobe Acrobat and see if that works.

Let us know how it goes.

Was this fixed for Letter and Legal paper sizes also?  Or only A3 and A4?

Leaving this here incase it helps anyone. A combo of unchecking the protection mode as stated and changing the printing PDL to PCL 5x

This is how to do it (well at least on our printers, it should exist for you though somewhere)

    • Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners > select the printer > Printer properties.
    • Device Settings tab.
    • Click PDL... near the bottom.
    • Available languages dropdown > select PCL5x.
    • Untick Data passthrough (this may also help).
    • OK, then Apply, then OK.

I’m guessing this is a widespread issue with mixed documents related to the latest update.  Would be great if Adobe could acknowledge this.  Windows 11, Acrobat 2026.001.21771 64 bit

I see that now.  I missed expanding that set of replies.  Fingers crossed it gets patched quickly

A few employees at the company I work at are experiencing this issue as well. Windows 11, Acrobat 2026.001.21771 64 bit

When they attempt to print their file, an error comes up saying “This document can not be printed” and when that is closed, a second error comes up of “An error occurred while printing this document, kindly use our help page to troubleshoot.”

We have tried checking Choose paper source by PDF page size and unchecking enable protected mode at startup.

I’ll be checking this thread periodically, so if any other tips are identified, please reply to this.

I tried this today and it worked

Disable Protected Mode: Go to Edit > Preferences > Security (Enhanced), uncheck Enable Protected Mode at startup, restart Adobe Reader, and try again
