Question

Printing PDF on printer is slow

After selecting the print icon for a PDF file, or using CTRL + P, or MENU > Print, the window opens with a delay of 10–15 seconds. The problem occurs for a larger number of users in the Active Directory environment, regardless of whether the user has network printers or just Microsoft Print to PDF. The issue is only resolved by disabling Protected Mode, but unfortunately, we cannot allow that. Please help us resolve this problem.

Hi @wojciech_6983

Sorry for the troubled experience, and thank you for reaching out.
This is a known issue; however, the issue is not reproducible in-house. Please ensure Acrobat is up-to-date.

To check for any pending updates, launch Acrobat, then select Help > Check For Updates.

If the issue is still reproducible after installing updates, please share diagnostic logs:

To collect the logs:

  1. Download and run the Diagnostics Utility from:  https://adobe.ly/49Aqhha
  2. Click on Start Diagnostics. Ensure advanced logging is checked.
  3. Launch Acrobat, reproduce the issue with your file.
  4. Once done, click Stop Monitoring.
  5. Copy the Log ID and share it with us.

Also, let us know if it is possible to connect over a MS Teams meeting, so we may arrange a between with product engineering to triage this issue.

Best regards,

Hi @wojciech_6983,

Thanks for the logs. While I am discussing this internally with the product engineering, you want to check this troubleshooting guide for Protected mode: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/protected-mode-troubleshooting.html

And let us know how it works.
