Question

Printing to Adobe Acrobat DC from Word results in Not Responding Frozen Window

Adobe Acrobat DC, fully patched on a Windows 10 computer with Word 365 (Office 365).

Very strange issue.  I can open the Word document but when I attempt to Print to PDF, Microsoft Word freezes and displays Not Responding.  What I have noticed is that this seems to happen in the Downloads folder.  If I move the file to another folder, even a sub folder, I am able to print to pdf without any issues.  So very strange.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that.

Would you mind sharing the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to help > about Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 22.1.20085 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also check for any missing/pending updates for the Win OS and try updating it and check

You may also try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Win and try using the application there and check.

Regards

Amal

Why are you printing to PDF?

Why not use the Acrobat ribbon tab or simply save as PDF?
