Question
Printing to scale
I'm using Acrobat XI pro and trying to print an image to scale. My image is a woodworking template that is to scale. The actual template is 2" x 12.75" the image is slightly larger. It is a horizontal image.
- I drag-n-drop the image on an Acrobat window
- I use tools > analyze > Measuring tool to measure the two reference lines and they measure 1.95" and 12.76". The minor difference is due to my not clicking the cursor exactly on the mark. At this time all is good.
- I click the print icon, select Poster and check "Cut marks" and then click the print button
- After the two pages print on my HP Color Laserjet Pro M478, using the cut marks I tape the two sheets together.
- I then measure the two reference lines on the printout, 1 7/8" (short by 1/8") and 12 7/32" (short by 17/32")
Why did the image get rescaled and is it possible for me to correct this action? I will be contacting HP support. I suspect it is a printer issue.
