When trying to combine six pdfs, I got the error messages "could not organize", "pdf that could not be combined, password protected." Four of the six pages worked fine. What do I do?

Hi @Herald Publishing,

Thanks for reaching out! The error you’re seeing usually means that one or more of the PDFs you’re trying to combine are password-protected or have restrictions that prevent editing or combining.

Here’s what you can do:

  1. Check the problematic PDFs – Try opening each of the files individually in Acrobat. If any of them prompt for a password or show restricted editing, that’s likely the one causing the issue.

  2. Unlock the PDF – If you know the password, you can remove the protection by going to File > Properties > Security and changing the security settings (you’ll need Acrobat Pro for this).

  3. Request an unlocked copy. If you didn’t create the PDF, you may need to contact the sender or author to request an unlocked version.

Once the protected file is unlocked, you should be able to combine the PDFs without issue.

Let us know how it goes!
