Problem converting MS Word 2002 to PDF

I have a paid subscription and have been successfully using the adobe web version to convert Microsoft Word 2002 documents into PDFs and combine PDFs. I just used it Monday, and it worked fine.  Today, however, it is saying " The file is either password protected, encrypted or is a PDF form that could not be combined to generate the PDF file."  I haven't done anything different from what I normally do.  I don't know what the problem could be.  I thought that maybe perhaps the adobe site is down or something.  Does anyone have any suggestions of how I can fix this problem?

I hope you're doing well, and we apologize for the delayed response and the trouble.

 

Ensure that the Word document is not password-protected or encrypted. If it is, remove the password or encryption before attempting to convert it again. 

Use the Adobe PDF Printer:

  • Open your Word 2002 document.
  • Navigate to File > Print.
  • In the Printer Name menu, select Adobe PDF.
  • Click OK to create a PDF.

I've run into random bugs like this before, have you tried resaving the Word document under a different file name? By doing a "save as" it might help to rewrite whatever issue that was not allowing you to save to a pdf.
