Question

Problem with a .pdf document

Hello there

I have an old book which has been photocopied and converted to .pdf.

The problem is that each page (a double page indeed) occupies a small portion

of the whole page.

Therefore when I try to print it, remains very small and almost impossible to read.

The solution would be to enlarge each image (each page indeed).

I don´t know how to do it. I enclose one page

Thank you!!!

Hello @gustavo_5546

I hope you are doing well, and thank you for sharing the information and the PDF.

You may try the following suggestions/workarounds, and let us know if that works for you:

  • In Acrobat, go to Menu > Print.

  • Under Page Sizing & Handling, select “Fit” or “Custom Scale” (e.g., 150–200%).

  • This will enlarge the scanned content on the paper without changing the PDF itself.

If you want to actually fix the PDF (so every page fills the screen/paper):

  • Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat Pro (full version, not just Reader).
  • Go to All Tools > Edit PDF > Under Modify Page section > Crop Pages.
  • Draw a rectangle around the book content (removing the empty margins).
  • Apply to all pages.
  • Save the file. Now the scanned pages should display larger and print at a readable size.

Use “Optimize Scanned PDF” (Optional): In Acrobat Pro, go to All Tools > Scan & OCR > Enhance Scans. Choose “Optimize Scanned PDF”. This can help clean up the images and make text more legible.

Ensure you have the latest version of Acrobat installed on the machine: Win: 25.001.20672, Mac: 25.001.20668, Sept 03, 2025. Check for any pending updates from the Menu > help > check for updates, install the updates, restart the app and the machine, and try again.

I hope this helps.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.
