Problem with pdf attachments

Good evening,
For some time now, I've been having a problem with pdf documents sent as attachments: when previewed from the mailbox (gmail), the document is normal and there are no display problems. As soon as I download it locally on my computer, unwanted characters appear in the document's filled-in fields: “0s” and “€s”.
I've tried restarting the computer (classic!), disconnecting/reconnecting to the mailbox, printing the document and then exporting it, saving it on the drive before repatriating it to my computer...without success. I'm on a Mac, surfing with Safari.
In advance, thank you for reading this and for your advice, feedback, ideas, etc.

Yes, that would explain it, as Preview is known to be a very buggy application.

You should avoid using it, if at all possible.

In which application are you opening the file once it's downloaded?

Ow, i was certain it was reader, but it appears to be Preview, from Mac OS..

I will try to install acrobat reader and see what it does.

Thx for the good question... 🙂
