Hello,

Thanks for reaching out, and sorry to hear you’re running into trouble while combining PDF maps exported from QGIS.

From what you’ve described, this issue appears to be more related to how QGIS generates the PDF files, especially if they include layers, transparency, or custom formatting. These elements can sometimes result in non-standard PDF structures that Acrobat may have difficulty combining.

Here are a few suggestions to try:

  1. Open and save each PDF in Acrobat before combining – this can help normalize the file structure.
  2. If possible, export the maps from QGIS using simpler settings, such as flattening layers or disabling transparency, and ensuring fonts are fully embedded.
  3. Also, make sure you’re using the latest version of Acrobat, and try working with files saved locally rather than on a synced cloud folder (e.g., OneDrive, Dropbox) during the combine process.
  4. More importantly, if your PDF files are located on network drive try copying them locally and try combining.

We’ll be happy to help further.
