Problems viewing and printing

A few weeks ago I noticed that several pdf files I tried to open failed to do so
and I got the following message "There was a problem reading this message
(57). Other files will not print, with a message stating that there are no
pages selected.  I have tried reinstalling the program but this also fails
to download. When I

try to update it reports error 111100.
