Problems with Image and Table Borders when Converting Word 2016 to PDF

I have seen similar posts on this subject, but no definitive answer. Here is a summary of what I am experiencing:

I have installed Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (version 2018.011.20040) on my laptop in order to convert Microsoft Word documents (Word 2016 in the Office 365 suite) into customer-ready PDFs. The file type is .DOCX.

No matter how I create my PDF, some or many images are missing borders and my table has borders of various widths. These issues occur at 100%, 150%, 200%, and 50%.

Here are the specific options I tried and the results:

Option #1: Create PDF if Adobe Acrobat Pro DC

Advanced Settings: High Quality and 300 DPI for resolution

Results: one missing image border/table borders of varying widths

Option #2: Create PDF in Word 2016 (File > Print)

Choose Adobe PDF as printer

Printer Properties: High Quality and 300 DPI for resolution

Results: No PDF file error

Option #3: Create PDF in Word 2016 (File > Save Adobe PDF File As)

No advanced options to select

Results: same as option #1 but even more images missing borders

Option #4:  Create PDF in Word 2016 (File > Save As)

Chose .pdf as output

Under Options > Tools >Compress Pictures: selected HD (330)

Results: footers have black background/table borders are OK/some missing image borders

Any solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

A co-worker just had a similar issue - a Table in Word when converted to PDf was missing borders, looked off.  I did this and seemed to work.

Open Adobe > Edit > Preferences > Page Display > and under 'Rendering' section - turned OFF (uncheck) the Enhance thin lines.

Save Doc.

Re-open.. all borders were correct now..

I can't believe no one ever responded to this.

It's very hard to answer when you don't know what the actual issue is. A screenshot of the problem, or better yet some actual files that demonstrate it will go a long way...
