How do I disable the Protected view feature in Adobe? I have a fil that I need to open but I get an error message that I require Adobe 8 or higher. I currently have Adobe DC installed on my PC. When researching this issue I was advised to diable the Protected View feature.

I cannot figure out how to do that.

Thanks.

Hi Jodie

++ Adding to the discussion

Would you mind sharing the steps you are doing to open the PDF file. Please try to download the PDF to your computer first and then open it with Adobe Acrobat/Reader DC and check.

Also the option to turn off the protected mode is available in WIndows OS only. Go to Edit > Preferences > Enhanced Security > Uncheck 'Enale Protected mode at startup' Turn Off the Protected mode and Uncheck 'Enhanced Security' > Click OK and reboot the computer.

Note: Please turn on the security after testing to avoid any security risk.

Hope this information will help

Regards

Amal

Please show a screen shot with the message (need Reader 8 etc) on screen and (most important)  make sure the screen shot includes the stuff around the window (like the title bar and tabs) of the app that's showing the message.
