Purchase Acrobat download once and own from Dell

Hello, I purchased Acrobat, one time download and allegedly I own it (or rent it really good or something) with the intent of installing it on machine with very limited internet access. A week after installion, Acrobat has required an internet connection as much as 3 to 5 times a day. If I wanted that hassle, I would have got cloud and not paid the out lay of cash. Why does it need to connect 3 to 5 times a day? The machine was never intened on having to go on the internet and yet now it appears as though it does - which means I just wasted my money because I will not be able to use Acrobat for much longer.  Is there some kind of fix to this?

The system requirements for Acrobat 2020 say "

This software will not operate without activation. Internet connection and registration are required for software activation, validation of subscriptions, and access to online services.* Phone activation is not available."

Yes the system requirements for Acrobat 2020 do in fact say that. There is no argument coming from me about that pariticular assessment. My point is when I purchased the software it DID NOT say that because the system requirements were not listed or I didn't find them if they were. I mean if you're buying a several thousand dollar computer and the manufacturer is selling the software - one would think it's probably compatible - right?

What exact version of the application did you get? If you got Acrobat DC then it requires internet connection (from time to time) to verify your subscription status. If you got Acrobat 2020 then it only need internet access once, to activate the application when you first install it.

I do not have a problem with Internet activation, even occasional checking, but this is happening 3 to 5 times a day.

If I didn't steal the product 10 days ago, why would I suddenly have stole it today. Its buy it and (either own or rent it really good). < In laymens terms - pointless.

If you go to "Edit"--->>"Preferences" you'll see a list of many different settings that you may fiddle with in order disable some services that run in the background (for example, turn of file synchronization, and also block documents from having access to the Internet unless is exicitely allowed by you)

Apologies - I tried the recommendations and time will show how effective they are. Here is the thing. I could have used a stolen version, there are lots of them out there. The whole point was not to use jacked software because I am no longer a little teenager and that is, for lack of a better way of explaining it, just not an appropriate way to be. So I approach it with this ideology and get the software and now spend most of the time with this machine on the internet verifying something I paid for ... again and again and again. That being said, the fact that there are so many versions out there like that is the reason I am verifying again and again and again is something I understand as well. Thank you for your assistance.
