Question

Purchased Adobe Acrobat DC Pro and it is NOT compatible with my brand new MAC

I have a Macbook Pro, (mac OS Catalina, version 10.15.2).  I purchased it from Best Buy 6 weeks ago.  I paid for them to convert everything over and the ONLY programs that did not convert and are still not functional on my Mac are my Adobe programs:  Adobe Acrobat DC Pro and my much-missed Adobe Photoshop.  Best Buy Geek Squad told me that these Adobe products, which are VERY EXPENSIVE no longer work on my new Mac.   I am trying to complete patient referral forms that I have used (on my previous 13" mac) for years, but now I can only use the "reader" version and everything I enter into the document is not recorded and cannot be printed.

WHEN ON EARTH WILL ADOBE FIX THIS ISSUE...HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN NOW THAT YOUR EXPENSIVE PRODUCTS ARE NOT USEABLE?!  WHY ARE YOU NOT ALERTING PEOPLE OF THIS PROBLEM?   EVERY TIME YOU PERMIT SOMEONE LIKE me TO DOWNLOAD Adobe Acrobat DC Pro who has just purchased a new Mac, YOU ARE TOTALLY MISREPRESENTING WHAT THE "DOWNLOADER" WILL GET FROM ADOBE, WHICH IS LITERALLY, NOTHING.  You must be aware of this so why not a warning to all potential customers that this product has not and will likely NOT be compatible with the OS identified on your computer?!

This appears to be going on now for a long time!  I have used Adobe products for years and now I cannot and the only thing that I did was upgrade my computer after you stopped supporting the previous version of Adobe Acrobat which was working well.  Well, cognizant that I would need a newer version of Adobe Acrobat eventually, I did as your warning about the loss of support implied,  I bout a new computer which  I have little use for now!  Please tell me that I an incorrect and help me (and the Geek Squad) find out what to do or RETURN MY MONEY!

Adobes claim that Acrobat works with ios15 is just not true.!

YES most elements work, but you cannot use it on any documents, new or old and be able to change font more than once!

This makes it totally useless for people formatting documents/books/letters/programs!

This is the same problem they had with ios14! and in Japan, they wouldput more men/women to answer the need!

What they need is someone with a deeper understanding of the problems caused by implementing an operating system that does not operate on its own, but mangles previous versions with fixes and reroutes to the point where Apple doesn't know where it is! How did beta testing not realise this?

Or perhaps they did but thought that Adobe were not that important and turnover said release it anyway.

I have no al;ternative but to uninstall osx15 back to 12 or 13!

Dread that I may have to install Windows on my Macs!

MacKeeper and Zoom coild not do more than note that Adobe admitted there was a problem.

Hi jaco_1944,

Thank you for reaching out.

Could you please confirm if you are referring Acrobat mobile application here? It would be helpful if you could share more details about the issue or features that aren't working with the iOS 15 version on mobile devices.

More information would be helpful to understand the issues you are referring to and we can get it checked. Please do share the Acrobat mobile application version number.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Assuming you're referring to Reader DC, if that's the case then it's a limitation of the file, not the application.

The latest versions of Acrobat Pro DC and Photoshop certainly do work as advertised on MacOS 10.15.x.

However, what may have happened is that the Best Buy Geek Squad folks may have tried to simply copy all your software and data from your old Mac system to your new Mac. Data can be migrated in that manner, but that is not true of Adobe and many other vendors' software. You need to fully download and install such software directly to the new system. And in the case of your system, delete any traces of the software that was copied over by the Geek Squad.

It is very regrettable that the Geek Squad technician told you that “these Adobe products … no longer work on your new Mac.” It is this technician's lack of knowledge of Adobe product installation requirements that is the real problem here.

Thank you Dov.  The Adobe Acrobat DC Pro is an entirely new program that I purchased and downloaded AFTER the Geek Squad had completed the installation of data/software onto my new Mac. I have been unable to do more than buy your product but NO MORE THAN 2.9% OF THE ENTIRE PACKAGE WILL INSTALL.  I Geek Squad was simply telling me what I was seeing...it will NOT install beyond 2.9%.  PLEASE, PLEASE, if I am mistaken, inform me of how I can actually get the software to install on my near virgin Macbook.  A step-by-step scenario would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!  Thanks again Dov for your response..tell me more, please!
