question on creating date field on acrobat writable form

when i create a date field, it has a drop down calendar, but if the date is not filled in, it defaults to a date. is there a way that if the date is not filled in that it remains blank?

If you delete date, field should be empty. Do you have any scripts in your file that would affect date field?

not that i know of. i sent the file to be "tested" and this is what they came back to me with, so i didn't observe how they were filling out the field, but i can't imagine them doing anything out of the ordinary. They specifically told me they didn't want a default date showing if no date was filled in. i used the date field under the format tab in text field properties, nothing special.
