I'm sorry, that's a genuinely rough thing to lose, especially with confirmed saves. I don't want to just repeat the earlier answer in this thread, since that assumed the file hadn't been saved, which doesn't match what you're describing.

A few things would help figure out what actually happened: where is this file stored, on your local drive, a network drive, or synced cloud storage like OneDrive, Google Drive, Adobe cloud storage, or Dropbox? Also, when you say it's "gone," does the file open at all but show your content from before the edits, does it show a blank or corrupted document, or does it fail to open entirely? And did Acrobat crash at some point during this, or did it close normally each time you saved?

Time matters here, so a couple of things are worth checking right now, before doing anything else with the computer:

• If you're on Windows and haven't fully closed Acrobat since this happened, check this folder for a recent temp file: C:\Users[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\DC (or the version number matching your install, instead of DC, if different). These files are deleted once Acrobat closes normally, so this is only useful if the app is still open or was closed abnormally

• If the file is in cloud storage (OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, or Adobe cloud storage), check that service's own version history feature for the file, separate from Acrobat entirely, since many of them keep previous versions regardless of what Acrobat did

• On Windows, right-click the file itself, go to Properties > Previous Versions, to see if File History or a restore point captured an earlier save

• On Mac, if Time Machine is enabled, check whether an earlier version of the file is available through it.
