Re: Adobe crashes and file disappears when I try to save changes to a PDF

It's 2025 and this is still a problem. Perhaps Adobe could look into this whole "Saving" thing, I hear it's helpful for files on the computer

    Could you please elaborate more on your issue? Is your copy of Acrobat always crashing? Or is it only while you are working on something? 

     

    Please ensure your copy of Adobe Acrobat is updated. To check for any pending updates, launch Acrobat > Help > Check For Updates.

     

    If you are still experiencing the issue, especially crashing or freezing of the app, help us with the following details:

    1. Acrobat version installed:   https://adobe.ly/3PQQ7nE
    2. OS name and version.
    3. Diagnostic logs: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-diagnostics.html Ensure the advanced logging is checked, and please share the log ID. 
    4. https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/collect-logs-crash-freeze.html upload logs to any cloud drive and share the link to download.
    5. Screen recording showing the problem.

    Hi - the behaviour is the same as that described by the OP. Opening a PDF, adding pages to it from another file, and hitting "Save" causes an endless loading cursor and crashes Acrobat if you try to do anything else. This is on the latest version of Acrobat on two separate computers, a Surface Laptop 4 and a desktop with a 7800X3D processor. I'm adding small numbers of pages to the document - if you hit "Save as" it works in less than a second.
