Hi there,

For accessibility i sometimes test read a PDF (with Acrobat). Now the language changed to english?

How can i set it back, to dutch.

Language of the PDF is 'dutch.

I've tried:

Mac system settings > accessibility > spoken material > set to dutch

Mac system settings > accessibility > live speech > set to dutch

Adobe preferences > read > unticked default voice > choose Xander (at least not a voice with foreign languages behind the name).

What am i missing smt?

Regards, Ed'

@edwink80424516 For Acrobat's Read Out Loud to speak Dutch, it needs two things to match: the Dutch voice you selected and the language tag inside the document's properties. You need to open the PDF in Acrobat, go to File > Properties, click the Advanced Tab, and under "Reading Options," make sure the Language is specifically set to Dutch.

If you confirm that setting is correct and it still reads in English, the problem may be a software hiccup where Acrobat simply isn't connecting properly to your Mac's installed Dutch voices, which can sometimes be fixed by trying to download or select a slightly different high-quality Dutch voice within your Mac's system settings.

Hi creative explorer,

Adobe language was set to Dutch indeed.

Within mac system settings i chose 'Xander' a male dutch voice. (among others).

Adobe just stays in an english female voice. Even when i try another PDF to read aloud.
