Hi.  Following the title, all steps look fine, no error messages, the saved file has the correct name and PDF symbol, but is empty. Thank you.

Hi Marcos,

Thank you for well explaining it.

As mentioned, the PDF file created using Microsoft Print to PDF and when its opened using the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, the content is not visible, although its empty.

  • Here, Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is a freeware, it just helps you to display/open the PDF file. Microsoft uses its own PDF printer to convert a word file into PDF. Hence, Microsoft Print to PDF has different mechanism of creating PDF file, on which we do not have hold and expertise.
  • Also, it could be a document specific issue, so try converting a different file and see if that works.

For testing, what we can suggest is to create to the PDF file using Adobe Acrobat DC and then open it to see whether it displays correctly or not.

Acrobat DC is a paid product, so you can start with the -7-days free trial to work for the first time and see the result.

Thanks,

Akanchha

Hi Akanchha.

Thank you for your attention.  The problem was "solved" a few minutes ago.  Indeed, I don't know why I was doing the unecessary extra step, trying to 'print' the doc, as I just needed to save it.  Worst, I did it (with success) for years.  In my deffense.. lol, I could swear that the Reader had not the obvious option "save as"!?

In short, once the doc is opened by the Reader, just go to "save as" and the job is (well) done.

All the best,

Marcos
