Question

Recognizing paper size when scanning

I recently purchase an HP M477 laser printer. When scanning 8 x 11 documents through Adobe 9 standard using the ADF, the scan seems to change the paper size to a legal sized 8 x 14 page, but to display the 8 x 11 page the lower portion is blacked out. This does not happen using the flatbed and did not happen on the HP 8600 ink jet. I select create PDF from scanner> select custom scan. Native mode is selected. Select paper size is grayed out and not an option. What could be causing this?

Sorry for the issue you are facing.

As you said, Native mode is ON. In this case, there must come scanner's scan dialog once you click scan. Now selection of papersize depends on this dialog. Please uncheck Native mode. Now you can select papersize.

Also Acrobat 9 is very old version expired years back. Please use trial version of latest Acrobat DC - Download Adobe Acrobat free trial | Acrobat Pro DC

Thanks.
