Redact isn't working after deleting HP IRIS OCR to fix OCR issue

OCR has not worked on my Acrobat DC program since the initial installation.  I finally found out that I needed to delete the HP IRIS OCR program as the two were competing.  Unfortunately, now that the OCR is fixed, I have lost the ability to redact anything but words I specifically search for or entire pages.  I would like to be able to select and redact sections of the page again.  Has anyone else run into this problem?

Hi,

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Snapshot you shared shows that you are in Redact App, and now you should be able to select text. As soon as you will make some selection, Apply button will get enabled.

Can you please go through this (https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat/what-s-new-in-the-redaction-tool-with-the-latest-acrobat-update/td-p/11133274?page=1). We have made some changes in Redact App for improve it usabilty.

Please let me know if you still face issue.

Thanks,

Thank you very much for the quick reply.  I see that the tool has changed and you no longer have to select anything to "draw" a box and redact.  Sorry for cluttering up the message board!

What happens when you use the redaction tool?
