Redaction marks appear on random other pages

In Adobe Acrobat Pro 2022.003.20263, when we apply redactions sometimes the redactions are repeated randomly throughout the pdf. It's making us crazy!  I've searched the forum and verified that the PDF has no background (that was a fix for someone with a similar problem).

 

Our billing software exports our bills to PDF and I seem to have the most problem with them.  The bills PDF properties are as follows:

  • The PDF producer is GrapeCity Active Reports for .NET
  • PDF Version: 1.7 (Acrobat 8.x)
  • files are text searchable

 

Other observations:

If I redact in a color, such a gray, the random, incorrect redactions are not opaque - I can see the text under the mark.  The actual redactions are fine and the text is gone.  

 

Has anyone seen this and figured out a work-around?  Thanks in advance!

    I'm here with the same issue! Super frustrating and a terrible experience with the tool so far. I redact 3 sections on page 1, and page 2 has random areas blocked out.
