Redaction takes 10 sec per doc - SLOOOOWWWWWW

I am running version 2023.003.20244   64bit.

 

I have a list of emails exported to PDF. I open the PDF, redact and apply... then wait... 10 or so seconds later, I can close the doc and move to the next one. Good tool but OMG... 10 sec per doc is killing me. BTW... while Acrobat is "thinking", I can do nothing. It locks up.

 

I have the latest version, I have read through other suggestions... i.e. turn off protected view and disable enhanced security. Still SUPER slow. With 4000 more docs to go through, this is not proving to be a good option for us.

 

Any idea what the heck is going on?

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry about the delay in response.

 

As the application works slowly when redacting text, please check if it happens with other PDFs. Or is it an issue with particular PDFs?

Try once reinstalling the application using the following steps:
-Remove the application and run the cleaner tool (https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html).
-Reboot the machine
-Install Adobe Acrobat from the following page: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html.  

Check if that makes any difference.
