Reinstall of Acrobat 8 Professional after a system crash but my original boxed CD needs activation but won't activate

I need to reinstall Acrobat 8 Professional after a system crash but my original boxed CD needs activation but won't activate. I have used this software since 2008. I am not sure if I ever had the version which doesn't need the activation. I suspect not since my last re-install was beginning of 2016. How do I now get this version. Thanks

The activation server for CS2 and CS3 are down since years.

You need the new downloader for CS3 (I hope this was the version with Acrobat 8)

Try to obtain the download ( you will get a new serial for that) --> Obtain a new serial number | CS3, CS4

If that fails, ask the Adobe support Contact Customer Care  for the download link for your paid version (use the chat bubble at the bottom right corner).
