Reinstalling old version of Acrobat as upgrade without original license code

I recently had my operating system upgraded to Windows 10 and am trying to re-install an old version of Acrobat (Version 9) from a disk. The serial number is included on the package, but it is itself an upgrade from an even older version, and Adobe needs to know the serial number from the original product, which I no longer seem to have. Is there any way around this problem without my having to purchase a newer version of Acrobat?

Actually, I found a way. I just had to call Adobe support. They had me in their records and were able to provide me with the serial number from my original product. They were very helpful.

That means the application was registered. You could have also found it via their website.

Anyway, good to hear it's sorted, but it doesn't change the compatibility issue. For best results you should try running the application in Compatibility Mode with an earlier OS, like Windows 7.

No. If you don't know the serial number, and haven't registered the application with Adobe then you can't install the upgrade.

But Acrobat 9 is at any rate very old and not compatible with your OS so this might be a blessing in disguise, as you should get a new version anyway...
