Remove a hyperlink from a PDF that was created in InDesign

I have an InDesign document with multiple hyperlinks and also text that could be a hyperlink but that I don't want to be an active link.  When I create the PDF and click the hyperlinks button so that Acrobat keeps the active hyperlinks I have created, it creates hyperlinks for text that I did not want to be a hyperlink.  For example, I have an email address in the document and it creates a hyperlink for it.  How can I remove the hyperlinks that I don't want in the PDF?

The hyperlinks buttons in edit PDF are grayed out because they weren't created in Acrobat.
