Hi,

I have 3,000 files with the same password that I need to unlock and remove the encrption.

I tried the  Action Wizard (see below) and nothing is working. I need help, I don't want to remove the password security one by one.

Action Wizard I used :

- Launch Acrobat and go to Tools > Action Wizard > New Action.

- In Create New Action window, select Protection > Enrypt

- In Specify settings at right, select None and save the action.

- Now open the PDF and then Action wizard

- Select the action from the list at right and click on Start.

Thank you for your help.

Is this a File-Open password? If so, this is not possible in Acrobat, but it is possible using a stand-alone tool. I've developed such a tool for my clients so if you're interested in purchasing it please contact me privately via [try6767 at gmail.com] to discuss it further.

The security types provided in Acrobat are:

  • Document Open password
  • Permissions password

I believe that the method you're following affects PDFs that are locked with password security to open the document.

To remove permissions passwords it must be done manually and it also includes an additional step to confirm the action.

From what I've read in another old thread, there's no way to do this as a batch action via JavaScript, but I may be incorrect.

So, I'm afraid it has to be done one by one in this case.

Hi, Thank you for your reply,

The password is only to edit the document.

It will take me forever to remove the password security on 3,000 files.
