Remove requirement to use signature certificate

I'm using Acrobat XI on my desktop.  I've always used an unsecure signature I created from an image to sign documents.  Someone just sent me a document to sign that they had already signed using a certificate.  Now Acrobat will only allow me to sign using a certificate.  Can anyone tell me how to remove this requirement?
