Question

Remove templates shared by inactive uers

I need to delete some old templates that were shared by someone who no longer works at the company. These templates are obsolete and make it confusing for current users to select the right templates.

As an admin I should be able to do delete or update them, but every entry I'm seeing in this community regarding this subject is years old and the current interface doesn't match the instructions. The only other "solution" I'm seeing is "this is not possible"....

Adobe, are you listening? This is an entry level feature that should be included here.

Can someone help?

@Christina367483826amy hang on a sec.... someone created the templates, they shared it, and now, they are no longer working at the company. Is this correct. Did this 'someone' work as an employee or did they use their own Adobe account? This is a big difference, because you wouldn't have the permission to delete those files.

Try contacting the person who originally shared the templates and ask them to delete them from their account. This is the most direct way to remove the templates, but it might not be feasible if the person is no longer available. If not, as a temporary solution, you could rename the old templates to indicate that they are obsolete or outdated. This might discourage users from selecting them!

Or consider creating a new template library and encouraging users to use that library instead. You can then place the outdated templates into a folder and try to hide or remove access to the old library.

hi!

this person used the company adobe account and is no longer with the company. we don't have the ability to move any of the files into any other folders or rename them. These are the only options we have.
