Removing and updating Bates numbers in DC Pro

I have a folder with 500+ pdfs.  All documents in the folder were bates numbered in chronological order by DC Pro.  After the documents were bates numbered we needed to replace some of them with new documents that have different numbers of pages than the originals.  Because of this we now need to re-bates the entire folder.  I cannot find a way to remove the bates numbers from all documents in the folder (other than by opening each one and manually removing the bates number and repeating 500 times).  Re-applying new bates numbers without removing the old bates number, just layers the new number on top pof the old one, making both illegible.   Is there a way to batch remove the bates number from all of the documents in the folder or to update existing bates numbers?
