Question

Request for Persistent Default Font Setting in Adobe Acrobat

I am writing to request an enhancement in Adobe Acrobat that would greatly improve the user experience for many of us. Currently, when editing text in PDF documents, Adobe Acrobat defaults to Minion Pro 12 pt. Despite changing the font preferences to Arial 14 pt, the software does not retain this setting for future sessions, and I have to manually change the font every time I edit text in a new document.

This repetitive task is time-consuming and can be quite frustrating. It would be extremely beneficial if Adobe Acrobat could allow users to set a default font and size for text editing that persists across all documents and sessions. This feature would streamline the editing process and enhance productivity.

I appreciate your consideration of this request and hope to see this improvement in a future update. Thank you for your continued efforts in developing and maintaining such a powerful tool.

Hi @Liag33

Thanks for taking the time to share your suggestion!

At present, Acrobat doesn’t support setting a persistent default font for the Add Text tool across sessions. It uses the last selected font while the app remains open. We understand how having a global default font could improve workflow efficiency, especially for frequent edits.

We encourage you to share your idea on our official feature request platform, where the product team reviews feedback for future updates: 🔗 https://adobe.ly/4fiAlh7

Appreciate your input in helping shape Acrobat’s future enhancements!

Best regards,
