I have checked "required" under text field properties but it does not seem to be working. Can someone advise on this? This is for a fillable PDF form.

Thank you all for your responses! I thought it meant that it would require the person to fill out the field marked required in order to save the form? Looks like this is not the case?

Here is a little more detail related to my goal with the form: the individual will open the PDF, fill out the fields (there are 7 fields to fill out), save the form, and email it to a specific email address. I thought by checking "required" it would force the user to fill out all fields so nothing is left blank. What does "required on submit" mean exactly?

Please let us know what you mean by "it does not seem to be working". How are you sending the document to be filled in? What happens that affects the behavior?

It would be helpful if you could elaborate on what happens when the recipient fills out the form.

Bear in mind "required" means "required on submit". It does not mean, for example

- form cannot be filled past this point until it's filled in here

- form cannot be saved if not filled in

- form cannot be printed if not filled in.
