Question

Resizing a Page in Acrobat Pro

I had to crop approximately 100 pages due to crop marks being included in the original PDF file. Is there a way to now get these pages (in a variety of page sizes, all smaller than letter size) resized to be on a letter sized page?

I've tried recroping the same pages back to the letter size I'm looking for, but it remembers the crop marks.

I'm not trying to enlarge anything, just center the existing page on a letter size page.

Thanks,

Peter

Acrobat can't crop your pages - only in a non-destructive way.

I suggest you place your pdf in InDesign and export a new pdf from there - in letter size naturally.

You can have InDesign place all the pages of your pdf in one go.

So if you only have one pdf file to crop it will be a 5 minutes job.

I know the crop feature allows me to crop the page size, either up or down, but when I cropped out the crop marks, and then crop the page up to 8.5 x 11 the original crop marks were still there.

Is there any way to crop a page with crop marks and have the crop marks deleted permanently?

And your method to bring the PDF file into InDesign, can this be done all at once or does it have to be one page at a time? The document is 1300 pages.

    Thanks,

    Peter

    As I wrote:

Acrobat CAN'T definitely crop your pages!!!!

Yes, through InDesign as mentioned - OR you could delete them manually - but I guess that's not the way for you.

And your method to bring the PDF file into InDesign, can this be done all at once or does it have to be one page at a time? The document is 1300 pages.

All at once, yes - as also mentioned (use the Sample Javascript "PlaceMultipagePDF" that comes with InDesign)

But with 1,300 pages you might want to do it in several steps - depending on the power of your computer.
