Right-clicking in Explorer produces an AcroTray error

Hi all,
This is driving me nuts and is really hampering my workflow.
Some background:
I have an enterprise managed computer, but I have admin access. Although we have CC licenses for everyone in the domain, if using an enterprise provided machine, Creative Cloud would not allow any local installations of apps (message to the effect of "This machine is managed by your enterpise. Please contact the Admin"). We do, however, have cloud-based apps that are virtualized. I've had issues with Adobe apps working with this platform, so avoid using them.
I was using a locally installed Acrobat Reader without any issues for months.
The problem:
I needed Acrobat Pro, so opened it through our virtualization platform. That's when I started getting error messages. I wasn't able to export as PDF from Word. Right-clicking just about any file in Explorer produced the same error. The error is "C:\Program Files(x86)\Adobe\Acrobat DC\Acrobat\AcroTray.exe The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail." When I get the error and click "OK", it freezes Explorer for about 4 or 5 instances of the message and then I can continue using my computer but it comes back the moment I do either of the above things. It's an easily reproducable error message.
What I've tried:
- I worked with my IT department and am now able to locally install Adobe apps. I installed Acrobat Pro from Creative Cloud but the issue persists. I've updated my ticket with them to reflect the issue continues, but haven't heard back yet.
- Resintalled Acrobat Pro.
- Disabled and re-enabled all Adobe apps in Startup options.
- Repaired the Acrobat installation.
- Unable to edit the Registry as it's been disabled by my enterprise.
- Tried to install the C++ redistributable, but it says not compatible with my system.
- Ran SFC.
I don't know what else to try. Anyone with any ideas?
Thanks!
