Hello,

I am Trying to reduce the file size of a 700-page PDF document (Acrobat X, OS X 19.11.6) . The option «Save as PDF with reduced file size» fails, nothing happens, no PDF is output, despite my being asked for a name and Location…

What can be wrong here?

Thanks for any hint!

Pretty sure this will have been answered you but I had this problem and solved the following way:

Save your PDF in the location you want

Then:

File->Save As->Reduced Size PDF

Choose your compatibility

When you are shown a window with your saved PDF's location

Choose another destination and then, before hitting save, go back to the original destination (where you saved your original PDF)

Click Save

You should be asked if you want to overwrite the PDF click Replace.

You will now have a reduced size PDF in place of your original

Hope this helps anyone else who stumbles across this.
