Save filled in copies of PDF forms

I have Adobe Acrobat DC and I am sending an editable PDF form to my coworker, who is not using Acrobat. He is able to open and type in the fields, but when he saves a filled out copy of the PDF, all of the information he typed in is erased when he opens it again. How can I change it so he is able to save filled in versions of the PDF without it erasing the data?

You added form fields, didn't you? That should be enough, but unfortunately many PDF viewers don't handle fields very well.

There's nothing you can do about it, except report any issues you encounter to the makers of these viewers.

He should use the free Adobe Reader for that.

Is there anything I can do on my end so everyone that wants to fill in the PDF doesn't have to download Adobe reader?
