'Save' while writing in text box leads to de-selection of the text box

Whenever I try to save while writing something in a text box, it kicks me out of that text box (i.e. textbox de-selected) and I have to double click on the text box to continue writing. Is there an option to change it so that I can save while in text box and continue writing?
