Saveas in latest Acrobat adding pdf.pdf to filename

Hello, I have been using a form for business orders for years and I open it and edit it and use saveas to create a copy of it. Since I have been using the latest version on a new computer I am seeing a name I choose in the saveas form get changed from "Text" to "Textpdf.pdf". I have been unable to understand where the options are to effect this and don't know why it is happening now after never really altering the source document.

 

Anyone know how to fix? Thanks in advance.

    Hope you are doing well. Thanks for writing in!

     

    Are you using a Windows device? If yes, you might want to disable the display of file extensions which looks like the situation altering your file names.

     

     

    To do so, try the below steps:

    • Open File Explorer.
    • Navigate to the folder you want to adjust settings for.
    • Click the "View" tab.
    • Find the checkbox "Hide extensions for known file types" and uncheck it.
