Saving into an existing PDF

Hello. I am considering purchasing the full version of Adobe Acrobat. My question is, if I have PDF # 1 saved on my desktop, and I open up PDF # 2 (maybe an email attachment), then could I essentially 'save as' and put PDF # 2 into PDF # 1? So basically i'm just growing the PDF larger and larger?

I've seen how you can merge PDFs, or insert PDF, but I want to have one PDF to start with, and just keep adding to it.

Thanks

You can Save As but it replaces contents. There is no "save and add to file in one step" function. You'd have to combine the files then save.

Within MS Word "Save as..." does not allow adding a second or third file as part of the save action, it only overwrites the existing file. Acrobat lets one insert pages from other PDFs and has a create a PDF from multiple files.
