Scan presets not available & Scan off center

I just purchased a new all-in-one printer. Epson WF-7840. I am using Acrobat Standard DC. Continuous Release version 2021.011.20039. I am using Windows 10 Pro version 10.0.19044 Build 19044


Our previous printer was also an Epson all-in one. Two scan issues are happening with the new printer.

 

First is missing options with the predefined scan settings. While I can click on them, it won't let me scan unless I set the page size. The drop downs for Color Mode, Resolution and Paper Size are not available. Only option I can scan with is the default settings.

 

The second issue is when I do scan with the default settings, and I scan 8 1/2 x 11, the scan is off center even though it is placed on the glass correctly.

 

I have tried to repair under the Help menu.  I have moved the preference folder and restarted Acrobat.  Neither of these options helped.   Hoping someone could please help with this issue

Hi Kenny,

 

Please be aware that Acrobat cannot scan by itself. It has no scanning capabilities whatsoever. Period.

 

Rather, it utilizes a technology called Twain to access another application. In this case, it accesses any scanning software you have on your computer (if you have several software to run your scanner, you can pick which one to use).

 

What I suggest is to first scan without using Acrobat. Use your scanner's software and see how it works. Once you get its nuances, see if everything works better for you from within Acrobat.
