Scan using Canon LiDE 220 with button on scanner

I would like to use the PDF button on the Canon LiDE 220 scanner to start the scan color document in Acrobat. By default that button runs Canon's IJ Scan Utility, which is inferior to using Acrobat. I looked at the Acrobat Wizard, but couldn't see any way to start a scan. I'm still using Acrobat X, which is more than adequate for my purposes.

If there isn't a way to use the button on the scanner, is there a way I can start a scan with fewer clicks than going through the Create PDF screen?
