scanning crash acrobat xi pro

I have searched to no avail. When scanning with acrobat xi pro on win 7 or win 10 computer I receive completely random ERROR "adobe acrobat has stopped working a problem has caused the program to stop working" CRASH of adobe. I have tried the suggested fixes ( generality for brevity) that all failed to have the magic cure. What I am wondering is this. In general terms, acrobat is using ram and along comes another process that "bumps or moves Acrobat to virtual memory or page file and the pointer that pointed top the memory address location is no longer valid causing the above error msg. Am I close? How do I fix this. I cannot close all the other programs while I am scanning ( unrealistic ). Using Fujitsu fi 6130 and Fujitsu fi 7160 with latest paper stream ip (twain) driver?

Hello Redb,

Sorry for the delayed response and inconvenience caused. As per the description above, the Acrobat Pro XI is crashing while scanning a document using the Fujitsu scanner, Is that correct?

Please check for any pending updates of Acrobat installed from help>check for updates, reboot the machine after installing any pending updates and try scanning again.

Make sure that you have the latest updates of Windows and the printer/scanner drivers installed.

Try the troubleshooting steps from the following Adobe article Troubleshooting tips for scanner issues when using Acrobat

If you still experience the issue, you can uninstall Acrobat using Acrobat cleaner tool Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

Reboot the machine and install Acrobat back from Download Pro or Standard versions of Acrobat DC | Non-subscription

If the issue still persists, try creating a test user profile with full admin rights and check.

Note: Acrobat Pro 11 is already declared as End of support product, End of Support means that Adobe no longer provides technical support or distributes runtimes. This policy affects product and security updates for all derivatives of a product or product version (localized versions, minor upgrades, operating systems, dot and double-dot releases, and connector products).

For detailed information, please refer to End of support for Adobe Acrobat XI and Reader XI

Let us know how it goes and share your findings.

Regards,

Anand Sri.
