Screen Reader Issues with Adobe In-text Hyperlinks

I have created a PDF document from Word that has in-text hyperlinks, whereas you click on the link and it will take you to another page within the document. When I test it using NVDA screen reader, it will read the sentence up until the line that says “page 2”. For example it will read: “For more information, please see.” and will stop before reading the intext hyperlink that says “page 2” at the end of the sentence. I have no issues with external hyperlinks, only ones that link within the document. Just looking for some guidance or assistance in fixing this issue.

@OCC2026 how are you saving your PDFs? I noticed when I ‘save as a PDF’ through the ‘Print settings’ from ‘Word,’ the hyperlink doesn’t work for me:

BUT, if I use the ‘Save as PDF’ the hyperlinks works fine

How are you ‘Saving your PDFs?’
