Separate Zoom In / Out buttons vs. "Click to zoom"
I recently tried to solve a problem with my desktop computer, and in the process I reinstalled Acrobat Reader. After I did that, the good old Zoom in / out buttons were replaced with a "Click to zoom" drop-down button. Also, the zoom ratio was no longer visible, and was part of the drop-down feature.
Apart from scrolling, zooming in and out is probably what I do the most, so I find this new "feature" extremely annoying. I haven't figured out how to get the old buttons back, so I figured that it probably wasn't possible anymore.
Warning: Sarcasm ahead! If the programmers behind this were to design a car, there would probably be a menu for braking. First open the Brake drop-down menu, and then select the braking level, such as "Light", "Medium", "Hard" and "Panic", or you can type a custom braking percentage. A different drop-down menu is used for steering. (By the way, these two menus cannot be open at the same time...) Sarcasm complete.
Today it dawned on me, that on my laptop computer, the Zoom In and Out buttons are there in the top toolbar, along with the zoom level. The strange thing is that the Acrobat Reader version appears to be the same on these two computers: 2023.006.20360. I suspect that there is an option hidden away in Windows Registry that is responsible for this. Does anyone know something about it, and perhaps know how to restore the Zoom In / Out buttons?
P.S. I do not use the new Acrobat Reader look. I had one quick look at it, and then quickly discarded it.
