Serious, serious, serious performance issues with Acrobat Pro

Here is the build -

Architecture: arm64

Processor: Apple M1 Pro

Build: 24.2.20759.0

AGM: 7.1.5

CoolType: 9.1.0

JP2K: 4.0.2.54782

Running Macbook M1 Pro with macOS Monterrey 12.6.3.

I personally don't care for the new UI of this Acrobat version, but had no chance since it did the auto-update.

For PDF files that are visually intensive + comments the screen refresh TAKES FOREVER and constant, constant blinking of the content in the application. Blinking, refreshing, pausing, blipping, then an agressive force quit - hoping the application resets and forgives. But the pattern repeats.

What gives Acrobat team?

Amal, appreciate the follow up.

Turns out it was my OS. I upgraded from OS Monterrey 12.6.3 to the latest Sonoma 14.5. And now the flickering + slow performance + screen redraw latency are gone in my Acrobat.

I will presume any latest update from Adobe will require the latest OS. 🤷‍♂

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that

Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check. If the file is stored on a shared network/drive please download it to your computer locally and then try again.

Also make sure you have the recent version 24.02.20857 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Let us know how it goes.
