Question

Share option is STILL BLANK!

The Share option still appears as a blank box. I’ve just spent hours reading through posts about this and responses from Adobe. Even though there are countless requests from the community for this to be resolved, there are still NO SOLUTIONS that work, and some questions have not even been answered with a response. Everything Adobe have suggested to try simply doesn’t fix it. The subscription for Adobe apps has recently increased and yet this issue remains unsolved and has done for years - come on Adobe, please help fix this option so that we can do a simple task of sharing files.

@joolywooly sorry to hear that your ‘Share’ isn’t working as expected. Like @Randy Hagan, I have no issues either. It looks like you're using the new Acrobat interface. As a test, try View → Disable New Acrobat. Acrobat will restart and switch back to the classic interface.

Sharing either in the new Acrobat or Classic Acrobat, it works for me.

First Icon: share Link to PDF - classic Acrobat
Middle icon - Send by email
    Third Icon: Share with Others

I can't say it will fix the issue, but it's worth trying

Yes, changing this option has worked thanks very much. I get the link, email and share pop up box, so this will help from now on. The share box only shows email option and not the other icons for WhatsApp, Teams etc - is there a way to get these to show?

    Hi joolywooly,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue.

This has already been reported to the team. However, they were not able to find the root cause. Could you please collect the logs related to this issue from the new Acrobat experience? You can follow the steps outlined here: Adobe Acrobat Diagnostics. Once you have collected the logs, please share the Log ID with us. This will help us locate the relevant logs for further investigation.

Also, please check if Acrobat has read access to the WebResources folder. You can find the folder at the following location: /Library/ApplicationSupport/Adobe/Acrobat/Trunk/WebResources.

Please check the folder permissions by selecting 'Get Info' and ensure that read access is granted to everyone. If it is not, please adjust the permissions to allow read access for everyone.

Let us know how it goes.

    Thanks,

    Meenakshi

Thanks for your reply. When trying to share a pdf from Acrobat, the ‘Share’ button brings up a blank box (see screenshot). If I go to File and scroll down to ‘Share File’ it brings up the same blank box? I can always email it, but wanted to use this feature.

I must admit I’m a bit confused by your comment. I’m not sharing your experience.

I just checked, on both the Mac and Windows platforms. On both platforms, I went to the Share toolset and it immediately popped up with a request for who to share my document with (screenshot from Mac version below).

You may want to try the same procedure and see how that works for you.

    Hope this helps,
