    Hi All,

We appreciate your patience so far.

You can now print from the modern snapshot tool. Please refer to the information provided in the following help document on how you can use the print option in the modern snapshot experience: Unable to print selected area using the snapshot tool.

If you would prefer to revert to the legacy snapshot tool that supports direct printing on Windows, please follow these steps (Also mentioned in the help article under the Note section):

    • In Acrobat, go to Menu > Preferences
    • Under the General category, unmark the option “Open snapshot for markup”.
    • Click on the Ok button at the bottom of the preferences window to save the changes.

Let us know if the information helps.

    Thanks,

    Meenakshi

I want to echo the comments before me.  This new snapshot tool lost what made the pervious version so helpful.  Pasting the snapshot from the clipboard to another program is not only a slower process, but also has the snapshot pixelated, low quality.  The snapshot tool worked great before this change, allowing you to select the area you want and print at that same quality to the selected paper size.  This was a crucial part of my workflow and really missed.  I don’t understand why the change was made.

I am from the Acrobat Engineering Team .
While we strive to make the experience thorugh our apps better , we undertsand that , this might not be the best we can provide .
Please - Share the PDF files(if possible) with which you are getting the issue . Also , the printer s which you are using .
Also , Is this print directly through Acrobat ? Or is a third party App used somewhere ?

Your inputs will surely guide us in providing with a better experience in the upcoming releases .

I agree with the poor quality issue ,just tried the extra 5 steps to print a snapshot.

First Adobe made cropping unusable ,so I had to use snapshot and now you made that unusable. Why am I paying for a subscription that I can’t use ?????????

Please send me this as well - I use this tool all day every day at my job just like OP. It was working fine and now all of a sudden, today 6/1, it has changed to the same crosshair and bubble thing. I must have accidentally clicked something and now I cannot get it back!!

    Hi FlyLily,

    Thank you for reaching out.

This is how the tool looks now. We’ve simply added a magnifying circle next to the cursor to help you capture the perfect snapshot. As you move it around, you'll notice the cursor positioned at the centre of the blue lines in black.

Could you please let us know if you are experiencing any issues with this tool when using it to take the snapshot?

Let us know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Meenakshi

    Hi zin38041344p0py, and Anon5667,

    Thank you for reaching out.

The tool remains the same; we’ve simply added a magnifying circle next to the cursor to help you capture the perfect snapshot. As you move it around, you'll notice the cursor positioned at the center of the blue lines in black.

Regarding the printing issue, could you please provide a short video demonstrating the steps you take to capture a snapshot and print it? Additionally, please share the version numbers of Acrobat and your operating system.

Let us know if you need any help.

    Thanks,

    Meenakshi

    Thank you for answering.

With the “old” tool if u snapshot an area, the area stays selected and u can print out the selected area. With the new tool the area does not stay selected it only copies to the clipboard.

I have to then copy it into word or paint to print out the selected area
